Image Jose Manuel Gómez-Pérez is Research Manager at Intelligent Software Components (iSOCO) in Madrid, Spain. His main interests include semantic web, knowledge acquisition, representation and reasoning, especially with process knowledge, and analysis and interpretation of process executions. He has carried out his research activity both in the department for Artificial Intelligence of the Technical University of Madrid and in iSOCO Lab. Jose Manuel has participated in a large number of international research projects, leading iSOCO's team in efforts like NeOn, Active , and OntoGrid, as well as in the privately held initiative Halo, funded by Vulcan Inc, where he led the development of methods and tools to enable subject matter experts to formulate themselves and reason on process knowledge from scientific domains. Furthermore, Jose Manuel has ample experience in innovation activities, transferring technology from the preceding fields into industrial sectors like telco, automotive, finance, and public administration. Jose Manuel has published papers at prestigious conferences and journals, as well as contributed to books, and has participated in the organization and program committee of several scientific and industrial events.

ImageiSOCO - Intelligent Software Components, S.A. is a private company founded in 1999 as a spin-off of the Spanish Scientific Research Council (CSIC/IIIA) in Barcelona. Currently, iSOCO employs 80 people in offices in Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia. iSOCO has ample experience in international R&D projects, including EU funded, and is successful in bringing research results to the market. Based on the results of their research activities, iSOCO has renewed their service offering being the first company in Spain to offer Semantic Web technology solutions.
