The term Content Management (Systems) have been increasingly used in
quite arbitrary ways. This relates to an increasing importance of digital contents for governments, companies, and other
organisations. Huge amount of digital contents need to be created, stored, re-used and deleted. First, a working definition for
Content Management (Systems) will be given before some results of a CMS study on the adoption of Content Management (Systems) will
be presented. Finally, it will be sketched how semantic technologies improve the use of Content Management (Systems) today and hopefully in the future.
